Currency & Conversion

What's the difference between Home Currency and Visiting Currency?

Your Home Currency is your default local currency (set in Settings) - it's the currency you use in everyday life. Your Visiting Currency is the currency of the destination you're traveling to. When you create a trip, the app automatically detects the visiting currency based on your destination. All expenses are entered in the visiting currency but converted to your home currency for easy tracking and budget management.

Can I change my Home Currency?

Yes, you can change your home currency in Settings. However, this only affects new trips you create. Existing trips and expenses will keep their original currencies to maintain accurate historical data.

Are exchange rates updated in real-time?

Exchange rates are locked at the time you create an expense. This preserves the actual rate you got when you made the purchase. The currency converter tool shows live rates for reference, but once an expense is saved, its exchange rate doesn't change.

How do I export my trip data?

You can export trip data as CSV from the trip settings. Choose: - CSV Only: Spreadsheet of all expenses - CSV + Attachments: ZIP file with spreadsheet and all receipt photos The CSV file is formatted to work with Excel and includes all expense details.

Is my data backed up?

If you have iCloud enabled, your data automatically backs up to iCloud Documents. You can check your sync status in Settings under "iCloud Sync."

What happens to my data if I uninstall the app?

If you have iCloud sync enabled, your data is backed up to iCloud and will restore when you reinstall. If you don't have iCloud sync, your data will be lost, so make sure to export your data first or enable iCloud sync. Note: Your attachments will not save to iCloud. If you want to keep a copy of your attachments prior to app deletion, we suggest storing these attachments on your local device prior.
